用我的心，写别人的故事

i've long been under the belief that being a male is an inborn

advantage. instead, being a female, means that you are not only

physically inferior, but also somewhat short of opportunities to be

somebody in the society. not to say of the monthly discomfort or the

unbelievable pain of giving birth.to be worse, the expectation for a

female imposed by the modern society is even greater than a male, that

is, as a female, you shall on one hand take care of the family(if you don't

have one, then the expectation turns into great pressure) , but also earn

your own butter and bread and prove yourself in your job. thinking of this,

i had alwways sighed about the cruel fact that i am a female.


but think it twice, i realize that while being a female is no easy job, being

a male is even worse.


first, males are not as thoughtful and sentitive as females, thus they fail

to experience the world with a microscope view.females feel.females

cry. females pay more attention to details. females speak well and listen

well. failing to have such sensitiveness, the males cannot understand

the world as clear as females do.


second, males can not express their feelings which show their

fragileness in public. they are deprived of the right to cry, to be fragile,

which is an important part of human nature. they are denied an

important outlet of emotions which actually help appease the inner fear

and discomfort.


third, having double roles in the family and the workplace, females can

experience more than males do. the more responsibilities females

assume. the more they are closer to the essence of life. they experience

birth, and they give birth. they not only take, but also give, generously

and willingly.  they are not expected to be the de jure leaders of the

society, but the de facto leaders--life philosophers and love messengers

who carry the secrets of love and forgiveness on to the later generations.


fourth, males assume much more social pressure than females

regarding social status and the careers. females are generally not

judged by her social status, while males do. they are expected to

conquer, to triumph, no matter whether they really want to play such

kind of role. i know many guys who were really lovely and innocent when

they were in high school, but turn out to be someone mean and cold

later. they have to wear the masks to protect themselves. they have to

betray the original self in order to succeed. in this sense, i really feel

sorry about the males, and i feel lucky that i am a little woman who

trades her social status for spacious room of self-betterment in other

fields.


being someone means that you lose the opportunity to be another one.

being males may also be interesting, but up tp now i am sactisfied with

my gender and the role it confers on me.yeah, i like being a female.
